Basic Health Tips for Women

The other day as I was talking to a friend about some women health related issues and I had a bit of a minor epiphany. You see my friend asked me what things she could do that were simple to implement and didn’t require a major lifestyle change to try and stay healthy. I told her that it seemed like a strange question coming from her, since I’ve always known her to be a fit individual. But, she wanted my opinion. She later confessed that she was picking my brain to get ideas for a book that she wanted to write about fitness for women. Anyhow, this got me to thinking that she was right. There are probably many people who just overlook the simple things, not because they don’t know, but because we get so busy that we forget. And, sometimes we need to be reminded. So, I decided to write a brief article myself.

So here are my basic health tips for women to remain fit and healthy in this busy age:

1. Trying to remain fit and healthy begins with a balanced diet. You should, of course, be aware of and monitor the correct weight for your age. Consult with your doctor to learn what foods you ought to avoid and follow your eating discipline routines. If you are attempting to shed some pounds, then it goes without saying that those favorite foods that are high in calories must go, no matter how convenient. Be sure to include foods with high fiber and low fat. If it has been a while since you have eaten cereal in the morning because it is kids’ food, then be a kid again and eat cereal. Of course, not the high sugar variety, but a good quality whole grain cereal. I prefer the organic cereals myself.

2. Another health tip that we sometimes need to be reminded of is to drink plenty of water. You should strive to drink at least eight glasses of water everyday. This could also be water obtained from sources like soup. If you can afford it, try some of the high quality filtered waters like Penta water. Drinking water cleanses the body from harmful impurities and keeps the keep the body hydrated. It also helps to keep your skin looking younger.

3. If you smoke then STOP! Yes, everyone knows that smoking is a horrible habit that ages you faster and, of course, can kill you, so why are you still smoking? If you happen to be pregnant that do everything you can to stop smoking for the sake of your child. Smoking will affect the health of the baby. The harmful content of cigarettes may be passed on to the child to the baby through the bloodstream. Here is another interesting tidbit of information for you women smokers. Did you know that there is research that suggests that female smokers are more susceptible to diseases than male smokers? Female smokers have a elevated threat of getting breast cancer. In addition, you ought to limit your alcohol intake and quit drinking entirely if you are pregnant.

4. Okay, here comes the one obvious health tip that so many people do not want to hear. You must include daily exercise of some kind. Try taking your dog for a walk. So many people have dogs and never walk them. It is a great way to get in some exercise for the both of you. Buy some kind of home gym and use it! For many of us that live in a big city it is sometimes a hassle to get to the gym everyday. Besides dealing with the traffic on the road, we have to deal with the traffic on the machines. And, for some, going to the gym becomes a social event more than a workout. Having a quality piece of fitness equipment in the home can save time. And, unless you must have the social activity at a gym, or need a spotter, you can get a great workout from home. You just have to be disciplined about it. Nowadays, there are even virtual personal trainers. You can get a customized workout plan and motivation via the virtual world.

5. I’m often amazed by this one because we live in an age where vitamins are everywhere. However, so many people seem to not use them, or buy them only to never take them. Use high quality Vitamins and Supplements. If you are an athlete this is even more important. Women especially should take a quality Calcium supplement. Supplementing with Calcium may prevent having cramps and Pre-Menstrual Period (PMS) Symptoms. It may also help prevent Osteoporosis. Another valuable addition is Vitamin E. Vitamin E helps to boost the immune system. Moreover, Vitamin E is said to be help avoid wrinkles that are commonly associated with aging.

Important Travel Health Tips

While going to different places, is always a fun experience, traveling can also be tiring and stressful at times, especially when there are cases of lost baggage, delayed flights, or accidents along the way. The nature of traveling can sometimes take a toll on a person’s health, weakening his/her immune system, and making him/her susceptible to different kinds of viruses and illnesses. Because this possible risk, it is important that one should prioritize his/her health and safety while traveling. Keep these travel health tips in mind so you can enjoy your vacation without having to worry about your health.

Be fit and healthy

Before the trip, make yourself fit and healthy by getting regular exercise. Even if your work is up to your eyeball, you do not have any excuses not to exercise simply because working out can be done without having to hit the gym. You can incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Instead of riding the car to work, ride a bike or walk. Instead of using the elevator, climb the stairs. Instead of discussing work plans with your officemate over online chat, walk up to him or her. Instead of hitting the showers the first thing in the morning, do a couple of sit-ups and jogging in place first. Not only that, you should also have a well balanced meal packed with nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Go for foods that are low in fat but high in fiber and nutrients. Be sure to get enough sleep as well. You would not want to be lethargic and sluggish during your trip.

Take it slow

Do not sweat the small things. Stress over planning and preparations can get the better of you that you would not have sufficient energy to enjoy the trip. Get help from other people for things like packing, buying airline tickets, and so on. During the trip, do not cram all the things to see in one day. Make sure you pace yourself the right way so you do not consume all your energy on your first day. Remember, it’s not about the quantity but the quality of the vacation. Try to relax your mind and calm your nerves by engaging in fun and laidback activities. After all, going on a vacation is about relaxation.

Get travel health insurance

Do not leave home without the right international health insurance. Some insurance companies offer services online so you do not have to worry about visiting their offices physically to get visitors insurance. USA, Europe, Asia, and many parts of the world, are covered mostly in these policies. Make sure that you check to see what locations the policy covers and what inclusions are there in the policy so you know you are getting the right one.

Visit the doctor

Before you leave for your trip, go to the doctor for a complete medical checkup. This way, you would know if you are fit enough for the trip. The doctor will also advise if you need to bring any medication for your trip. Moreover, you would also be able to get the necessary immunizations that you need, particularly if you are traveling to remote or exotic destinations.

Penis Health Tips Not to Miss

So many things in life come with a handy owner’s manual or user guide; unfortunately, the penis is not one of them. If such a guide did come standard with every penis, surely, a chapter on maintaining peak performance would be the most-read part of the book. But even without a step-by-step guide to maintenance, there are several key elements of penis upkeep that can keep the manhood running on all 4 cylinders. These 5 penis health tips are a good way to start.

  1. Safety: With the percentage of individuals who contract at least one sexually transmitted infection (STI) rising exponentially each year, men should never take the health of their love organ for granted. Health experts estimate that over 50% of the population will contract an STI in their lifetime. So it is simple: Men who are not in a monogamous relationship should wrap it up. It is also important to be tested regularly; it is possible to have no symptoms of an STI and still pass it on to a partner.

  1. Exercise: What is good for the heart is good for the penis. Exercise keeps the heart healthy, promoting circulation to the most important extremity. Focus on exercises that increase cardiovascular health such as jogging or bike riding. One major cause of performance issues is poor circulation and blood flow, so keeping the heart pumping will prompt the penis to follow suit.

  1. Eat Right: Eating a balanced diet is important to maintain the health of the body — and the penis. There are a few vitamins and minerals that are particularly penis-friendly, so try noshing on the following foods for added penis protection: seafoods that are high in omega -3 fatty acids, nuts, fruits and berries, ripe bananas, lean meats, and even the occasional glass of red wine. Though a few ounces of wine can help with circulation and enhance erections, too much wine or other alcohol can have the opposite effect and essentially shut the penis down for the night, so all men should keep this in mind and drink wisely.

  1. Maintain a Healthy Weight: Even men who maintain a moderately healthy diet can still be above the ideal weight for their body. Men who have a little extra padding around the middle, which is a typical weight gain pattern in men due to dropping testosterone levels, may be at a higher risk for below-the-belt problems. Obesity can lead to diabetes, blood pressure issues and a whole host of other problems, all of which can drag down an otherwise perky manhood. Diabetes is particularly hard on the penis, as it can reduce functioning — and in severe cases –cause a loss of sensation due to nerve damage.

  1. Penis Care: Many men are not as diligent – or are downright neglectful in some cases – when it comes to proper grooming and hygiene of the penis. An unclean penis can lead to painful infections, lumps, bumps and even penis acne. Bacteria thrive in the nether regions due to the warm, moist conditions, meaning an unclean penis can become a potentially stinky penis, which is attractive to nobody. Daily washing with gentle soap and water can keep the bacteria at bay, helping a man stay fresh and healthy. After the shower, it is important to apply a penis vitamin formula to help keep the delicate skin moisturized and supple. For maximum effect, gently pat the area dry, allowing some moisture to stay on the skin, before generously slathering on the creme to lock in the moisture. Men should choose an all-natural penis creme formulated with vitamins and minerals (most professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil) to help improve the appearance of the skin while simultaneously boosting sensitivity and performance.

Health Tips for Travellers

Travelling in Canada

Each year, over one million visitors come to Canada to explore this vast land. From cosmopolitan cities to majestic mountain ranges, Canada’s landscape is as diverse as its people. Travel, whether abroad or in one’s own country, is a richly rewarding experience, but there are always potential health risks. Visitors who travel to Canada are wise to consider a number of Basic health tips before embarking on their journey.

The Great Outdoors

For the outdoor enthusiast, Canada is a veritable playground. Home to countless lakes and forests, Canada is the ideal destination for adventure seekers. To ensure that illness does not spoil your vacation, be aware of the environmental factors. The weather in Canada can vary greatly from province to province, thereby necessitating that you pack weather-appropriate clothing. To ensure that you are prepared for Canada’s extremes in climate, be sure to research the area that you will be visiting. Failing to dress accordingly may result in your health being compromised. In the summer months, be sure to protect yourself from a variety of bugs with insect repellant. Most of them are a mere annoyance, but a bite from an infected mosquito can have potentially dangerous effects.

“About Social Health”

Air Quality & Sunshine

Canada’s urban centers offer some of the finest cultural events in North America, and much like all large cities throughout the world, Canadian cities can be subject to periodic reduced air quality due to traffic and industry. For those travellers who are prone to respiratory problems, it is smart to equip yourself with any necessary medications before leaving home. In addition, seasonal allergens, such as pollen and ragweed are prevalent in most Canadian cities and can inhibit your ability to enjoy the outdoors. During the summertime, Canadian cities offer an impressive lineup of festivals and other special events, but you can be easily deprived of their enjoyment if you do not protect yourself from the sun. The UV index in the summer months can be very high and travellers can experience the ill effects of over-exposure to the sun’s rays.

Medical Emergencies

Health tips are helpful but they do not guarantee that you will stay in optimal good health while travelling. The best way to safeguard yourself from costly medical bills is to have valid health insurance. If you are a visitor to Canada from another country, sickness can leave you with a heavy financial burden. Before leaving your own country, be sure to purchase health insurance that will cover you in the event of a medical emergency.

Provincial Coverage?

If you are a resident of Canada and are visiting another province, be aware that your provincial health plan will not cover all medical expenses incurred out of province. For example, citizens of Ontario will find that OHIP does not provide for ambulance costs and accidental dental expenses incurred in another province. A little research will inform you of the omissions in your provincial health coverage. If you do not feel that your provincial health care is adequate, it may be wise to purchase supplemental health insurance before your trip.

There is much beauty to explore and experience in Canada, so make sure that you enjoy your trip to the utmost by safeguarding your health!
